FBM Radiator shroud for OEM Rad
 

I am thinking about ordering this, how exactly does this help with cooling? It says it redirects the air to the radiator more. Does it also prevent transferring the heat from the front mount turbo's as well? Or does the turbo need its own shroud?

I have an issue with the turbo's hot parts so close to the radiator that coolant temps just keeps on rising. Will the shroud help some with this issue? I am not convinced that a bigger radiator is going to help, it feels like it is just going to prolong the inevitable of heat soak.

I logged 225F coolant at the track, and before next season I need to address this issue. So far here are my plans:

Take out crash beam, replace with drift bar
holes on the front bumper
FBM rad shroud, if it works

I have a vented hood. Not sure what else to do, I have a custom kit that is a very tight fit and a Koyo won't prob fit in there.

It seals the area between the fans and the radiator. The shroud makes sure the fan is pulling air through the entire surface area of the radiator and not just the part the fan is sitting in front of.

In a lot of cars the shroud helps more in situations like sitting in traffic versus high speed and can be a restriction more than they help, but front what I've read our stock fans and high speed SPAL fans pull air through even at speed.

I would also concentrate on directing air into the radiator and sealing up gaps in front of the radiator.

I suppose as a secondary benefit it could act as a heat shield between the radiator and the turbo but that's not really the intention. Probably wouldn't hurt to put some gold reflective tape on it. Others have found with some simple modifications you can move the radiator an inch or so forward, might not be a bad idea either.

My IC is a tight fit and cannot move the rad any forward.. That concerns me about the shroud if it may cause a restriction at high speed. But perhaps putting the gold tape on the shroud may help fend off the heat coming from the hot pipes..

Ugh I hate the gold look in the engine bay though.. Looks like I'm sliding over to the function > form slowly. Thanks for the input man.
