Engine rattle

Hi all wanted to know if anyone has heard engine rattle when the car is under load between 3000rpm and 4000rpm, it's only happening when I'm driving, if I just rev the car it's fine.

Any info would be great

Hi

Pinging under load or a proper rattle?

No sounds almost like a bearing knock but it's not, this is the second time I've heard it, just worries me that there are some weird noises and then they gone.

Well finally got to the bottom of the rattle.

Took the car in last week to get some issues sorted only to get a call from Toyota to tell me that they have removed the gearbox and are replacing the complete clutch assembly, gear lever, thrust bearing, pushrod and the hydraulic clutch cylinder.

New parts will only arrive in 2 weeks.

Yikes, which Toyota Dealership is your car with?

Damn now i think I'm gonna get a second opinion on a rattle that i've been experiencing.....

Happens only on an incline, between also around the same revs. Last time i took my car in to Toyota Midrand, I was told that the problem is probably cabin related, but after hearing this i'm definitely going for a second opinion!

Mine makes a weird ass kind of grinding noise or better yet a sound like you are in too high of a gear and going 20mph. Except I am in neutral and its always when coming to a stop. SOrry to thread jack didn't want to start a whole new thread and was hoping someone here could help since its relevant

She's still a baby then. I just passed that mark with mine and have been holding back on visible mods pending reliability. I've had no issues yet..touch wood

I have a similar thing, but only in 2nd/3rd gear and only when it's quite hot outside.
I wrote it off as being a cabin issue for those very reasons.

Also, it goes away after 5K RPM or so.
will definitely keep an eye on this and have it checked out now
