Different sure but STILL up and down shift so still change engine revs. No matter what mechanical means causes the shift the impact on engine is the same. SHIT even when we agree we disagree my head is spinning at this point! Oh and if you ever had an auto tranny screw up and drop into first at highway speed you know EXACTLY what it will do to an engine! That was what caused the demise of my old AMC Concord many moons ago! There is probably still a hubcap rolling down the highway someplace. |

I have not learned a single thing from "He Who Must Not Be Named" or the rest of the "Technical Debate Group" thank you very much! Mainly because I: A) Already knew it but didn't use a thesaurus to explain it (KISS) B) Didn't know it and therefore had no clue who was right or wrong (went elsewhere and formed my own opinion but didn't bother with joining the debate) C) Just didn't care as much as they did (several hundred posts debating on what the air pressure in the tires should be REALLY?) |

Engine braking with RWD is basically light braking with 100% rear bias. It takes a lot for this to be a problem, but it can be, and in my case, has been. |

Dual clutch is actually pretty smooth when it is operating normally, all brands are not made equal in terms of shift feel. You can actually reset DSG to have the computer module re-learn the clutch actuation points, and during adaptation / initial drive it would feel like the tranny is about to fall off the car everytime it *CLUNKS* on shifts. Even the shifting process for DSG is different than with a single clutch gearbox obviously whether manual or automated. |

Toyota uses the A960E tranny in the FR-S and BRZ, also found in Lexus GS, IS The IS-F uses an AA80E tranny Unfortunately different cores |
