What other parameters were recorded? Maybe post AFR as well. Though it is unlikely an AFR issue.

There is no way you wouldn't feel a 13%, almost instantaneous drop in torque when you are driving.
I'm with stonenewt, I think that is traction control stepping in for some reason. |
I ran on the same MAHA dyno earlier this year (May) but using an earlier version of the OFT E85 tune. (v1.42)
In terms of power mods on my car, it is a fairly short and simple list: Berk Catless Front Pipe AFe Drop-in dry air filter in the stock airbox Perrin air inlet tube Vishnu Tuning OpenFlash Tablet, running the OTS Stage 2 EL E85 Tune v1.42 Running stock headers and muffler system Propel E85 fuel http://86drive.com/wp-content/upload...o_run-MAHA.jpg As you can see I did not run into any of the issues that ck-GT86 encountered. I've since switched over to v2.0x of the tune, and although I haven't dyno'd the car since, like probably most of you running the OFT v2.0x tunes I haven't felt anything out of the ordinary in driving the car. (I've also since switched back to 91 tune just for fuel convenience reasons). |
Interesting Findings on the Dyno - OpenFlash/Vishnu tuned
Ops I read that wrong. In for updates.

As OP mentioned (I was told same data) a stock BRZ makes ~137whp on this same dyno. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

As a person who did tons of research, runs these products and carefully watches this board. I gotta say, this kind of crap is so frustrating and I don't know how Shiv deals with it.
Hmmm... You mean the secret power of the "half-million dollar" Maha dyno and it's assuredly right foot wielding (and therefore competent) operator didn't actually provide the mystic enlightenment and clarity that finally revealed Shiv's tune wreaking havoc on the OPs FA20? Did the dyno operator come equipped with eyes as well to see if the Trac lights were on? I don't blame the OP for wanting to know what was going on with his pulls. Still, I wonder what boatload of poo was whispered in his ear after his dyno runs. I mean to your average reasonable person, what would motivate them to make a post like the OPs with the tone and feel that he did? Straight up, whatever he was told did him a huge disservice. Whomever fed it to him also did him a huge disservice and then likely charged him for it! That person was either incompetent or had an agenda or maybe both. Also, I can't imagine how many others this same line of crap has been fed to. Really, by now, how many cars are out there running Shiv's tunes? Counting all makes/models? Maybe thousands. Where is all the grenaded metal? Nowhere. This has the look of yet another owner ham-fistedly and erroneously manipulated into bad feelings about Shiv's tunes. How many times has this been tried now? First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win. - Mahatma Ghandi Look, Shiv makes a solid product. Shiv's been tuning cars for countless miles for a long ass time now. Years <-- CLICK ME. The OFT is out there. His OTS tunes improve people's cars. Just like other tuners tunes can. His products are not fucking with people's cars. Tuners (especially ones with the most to lose over having a competing product in the market) fought their battles. Used whatever low tactics they could and lost. The OFT is still here. Shiv is still here. The war is over. It's done. Deal with it. Crap like this takes us no place. /rant |
Quick update, I didn't feel any dip in 2nd and 3rd. Didn't get to 4th at that RPM range due to shitty NorCal traffic. I'll rip through the gears after work. 4500 - 4700 is pretty high for normal driving

Wouldn't be out of the question. Front wheels stationary while rear wheels spinning has the potential to confuse the hell out of any system that uses the ABS/wheel speed sensors.

I have no intention of degrading their reputation, I simply wanted to share my findings; maybe others have had the same experience? The intention of the dyno was to get an idea of what my mods have provided thus far, and if they're even worthwhile. I'm more disappointed there was only a gain of ~40WHP with everything in there. I'm leaning more towards of not worthwhile by the way... .ck |

I used to see them randomly across my rpm range if the operator forgot to turn off the driver aids. However, it's interesting that on these pulls this seems to happen around the area the engine normally delivers its torque spike. |
