Engine knocking after flash

I wAs running e85, ran the the tank empty and then filled up with 93. Let the car run for a few minutes then flashed with my OFT to a 93 octane map. When I went to restart the car bucked and stumbled then after 20 seconds or so started idling down. I watched the fuel trims and they are high around 6-10. In neutral I rev the engine a little and I can hear it knock. Please help!!

I recently went back from E85 to petrol. I didn't get any knock but I had huge fuel trims for a while. But I flashed back to 1.59 as I new my car ran well on it. I am saving the 2.06 tunes for my second tank of petrol.

If you are experiencing knock maybe flash the 91 tune and drive conservatively and moniter you AFR for this tank while it still has some ethanol in the mix.

You aren't hearing knock in neutral while revving the engine. That's going to be pretty much impossible. It's likely you are just hearing some exhaust popping as the e85 slowly flushes out of the system. If you just let it idle, it will take several minutes for the E85 in the fuel lines to flush. Instead, I recommend just driving it normally as the extra engine load will speed the process up.

Those positive fuel trims are normal when you are running residual E85 on a pump gas map. No need to worry.

Thanks Shiv. I was having a panic attack. She's running smoothly now. Why would ignition adv be around 40?

Because that is where it is supposed to be when you are revving your engine like that :)
