Did anybody experience any issues with their oem motor mounts?

Did anybody else experienced any shaking or rubbing after going FI caused by oem motor mounts?
My OEM motor motor mounts started shaking roughly around 224whp with my avo stage 1 kit. It usually happened after warmed up and driven for 15-20 minutes, Which I thought was kind of strange. It would even shake at a complete stop when warmed up and driven for 15-30..
I even posted a previous thread on wondering what was causing this...

A couple days later, I took it to a shop that works specifically on subies and was thrilled when the owner of the shop told me that it was only a little bit rubbing caused by poor motor mounts. Anyhow, I had Perrin engine mounts installed and all good ever since...

Anyhow, any body else experience violent shakes with their oem mounts?

That's how gossip starts :D It was another forum member that melted not mine :w00t:

Mine are doing good. Never melted.

Also anytime you change to a stiffer mount, NVH is increased.

I just finished reading your experience about your avo e tunes from JV..damn I'm glad I finally got mine dyno tuned! Now that I recall, I do remember my engine sounding harsh after averagely driving (a little bit of hard driving, but mostly cruising) every time I got home... I don't hear it anymore after my custom dyno ecutek tune... What was your afr at wide open throttle using both JV's tune and Toni's tune?

Scary shit

With JV it was running pretty rich.

With Toni it was somewhere close to high 11s and 12s but the issue with that tune was a bunch of different stuff like holding closed loop too long and as a result seeing 16 psi with 14.7 afr, idle dips including stalling, cranking injection all wrong, misfire because too rich E85 (dipping into 9s on tip in)....

Interesting,... I read somewhere that the flash tunes by JV were known for running to rich... my current car's afr is usually set in the high 11's-12's as well... I'm currently making 254whp/200lbs with my custom dyno tune using the ecutek whereas with the base tune, I was making 224whp/174lbs With an 2.5 HB exhaust and k&N filter.
With the base tunes I was also getting cel codes like p0171, p117b, and p1170 a day after the install. I then realized I had an exhaust leak right out of the manifold gasket! Anyhow, I replaced the previous gaskets with some sti gaskets purchased at o'reilly's, then I cleared the codes, and it ran strong for 2k miles with no cels. Later started hearing a harsh knock sort of sound coming from the engine. A couple 100 miles later my car was shaking violently! I resolved the issue by switching to perrin motor mounts, I also noticed I had some hidden cel codes that were p0102 and p0113. No cel light popped up for the codes. I finally decided to get the custom tune and was actually thrilled when the tuner told me I had a healthy motor and he managed to get rid of the codes.

Would you like yo hear about my experience with my fa20club.com flash tune with their intake system? :D
