TWM short shifter

anybody have tried it?

i have make a research and the system could not find any thread about it.

doesnt reduce the height, but reduce the throw by 27% of the original.

around 280$ +tx fees (tx and transport)

what do you guys think?

edit: nevermind, i did a google search and i found a thread. the forum search engine is not really good.

I have the TRD sort throw on mine. Usually sells at around $140-150. Similar throw reduction. Very nice feel.

TRD is best.

Is it the same for BRZ?

If anyone has any experience with it, I'd like to hear their thoughts - it looks to be very well thought out and nicely made.

I'm very happy with mine. You should know I've also replaced the fluid and all the bushings and stuff. It shifts like a dream.

One bad thing is it makes the oem shift boot kind of pooch out and not fit properly. They sell replacements on the site but I have not ordered one yet.

Haven't tried any of the others so I cant really compare but it seems a bit expensive.

Thanks for the feedback and for the information on the issues with the shift boot. Which bushings did you replace and what brand did you go with? Whiteline and Perrin both offer different types of solutions and I'm trying to get as much information as I can before I choose a manufacturer.

I just went with the ones the sell on the TWM website(rear stay and front carrier i believe). The fronts are plastic and the rear one is a hunk of rubber so I wouldn't get too caught up in name brands and whats better. I also replaced the rear trans bushing with this one

I went with that brand because they had a $25 shipped special. Again I don't think its any better or worse than the perrin one. I did this one before the shifter and other bushings. I was surprised that I noticed a difference. I cant really comment on the whiteline one.

I have the TWM in black and love it. I too got th bushings but never installed it. Have their Abrahms shift knob with the oem pattern engraved as well. Their stuff is pricey.

No regrets here. I decided to spend a little more because I didn't like how the kartboy shifter required you to cut up your OEM parts to get it installed. Also, the TWM one just looked like it was of extra solid construction. There are a couple of lower cost shifters out now that were not available then.

One other minor gripe I just remembered. The reverse lockout spring combined with the rubber boot makes for a heavy duty spring feel on the reverse lockout. Its noting I cant live with however.

Oh, I emailed TWM through their website one time with a question about fitting a knob and they never responded. Therefore, if you demand excellent customer service you might want to look somewhere else like Kartboy.

Amazing what a quick search can find...
