WheelDude
Synopsis- Don't tell a customer you have an item in stock, even after "double checking to see its in stock" and later on not inform them you're waiting for the manufacturer to ship to you..i had to find out by calling wheeldude every day!
Normally i come here to write good experiences as opposed to what you find on these areas of the forum. This isn't one of those times as I'm extremely unhappy with the shipping/processing and communication on behalf of @WheelDude.com. I went to them not only because of their selection and prices but also because of the positive reviews. Long story short, i placed an order for a set of Rota Titans on the 16th, first thing that morning. Important point i missed, i called and asked if the wheels where in stock prior to ordering, i was told.. "let me check...mmm, yeah we have them in stock" i proceed to place my order. Anyways, today is friday and the wheels haven't even shipped, because they haven't arrived from ROTA... WTF!! Is there a different definition of "in stock" in california? Now this is not the first time i purchase something online, so i know about processing and shipping policies, if they even have any. Not to make this overly complicated, if you're like me and expect your purchased goods to get shipped at most within two days, then make sure you communicate with these dudes and make sure they're paying attention when you ask if their item is in "stock", even so then double check. Another thing, wheel and tire packages take longer due to the mounting and balancing.. blah blah, well this isn't the case... just wheels!! no lug nuts.. sorry forgot again, they told me they were in stock when they weren't. I honestly feel like they're just one of these companies that want to hold on to your money. Last time i will do business, and yes simply because of that incident, yes it is that important to me. I don't mind waiting, i don't mind paying but at least tell me!! The stupid part is that i could have had these probably installed making a nice positive, picture filled thread. This is their processing policy if you're interested. "Order Processing Schedule - Orders are processed by the end of day of the very next business day. (This means that Friday orders may not be processed/shipped out the same day). We will always expedite overnight and 2 day shipping. Most cases orders are processed within hours of order and shipped the very same day… but we do get busy @ times so please… if there is something you need to have @ a certain time please use expedited shipping OR give us ample time to get processed and shipped. Ground Shipping to the East Coast is about 5-8 Business Days." Oh and please don't tell me to use expedited shipping, i simply didn't imagine it would take a week to ship and item "in stock". |
had a bad experience with them myself too. terrible customer service. i was shopping around for another extra set of wheels last year and inquired about a wheel in a certain size (grid-v in 17x9) and was told this did not exist and adamantly told me i was mislead and that these wheels only came in 15 and 16's. i told them i'm sure they do because another shop was selling them and had lots of stock. i linked them to the other store and then they "rechecked" and told me they could get them but it was going to be a special order...

Lol apparently things aren't as they used to be with the "dudes". Glad to see I'm not the only one. Hopefully these ship today otherwise I'll honestly have to cancel simply because of the uncertainty of the status.

You might want to check with Dan at Mach V Motorsports in Sterling, Va. He deals with Rota brand.

Honestly the only reason why i haven't canceled is because the same day i made the purchase there was also a fraudulent charge on my account and after they charged the card i had to call the bank and cancel. So now for them to refund the money would be a hassle since the card doesn't exist. Regardless, i will call my bank and see what i could do, maybe a 3way call with the bank. I'll check out Mach v.

If you cancel a card and a return is filed to the old card number it should still return you the money. I've had to do it before and the return was filed to the old card number and VISA automatically routed it to the account even though there was a new card number established. I don't know if that is possible with your bank or not but its worth a shot if you really don't want them to have your business.

Dont they have a vendor account here?

Most banks do this since the cc is still connected to your account. But if for some reason they reject the refund wheeldude would be made aware. At my place of work we send out a check to the billing address that was provided at checkout if this happens. If for some reason wheeldude won't help you out process a chargeback. Good luck! |
Thanks man, really appreciate the explanation. This is something I didn't know, it's a must.

WheelDude
I contacted them via their "contact" option on their website this past Friday and I still haven't gotten a reply. I did call them and they shipped the wheels. Just a heads up for those planning on ordering. The guys where pretty pleasant to speak to once I got them on the phone and pretty eager to help but for some reason every other mean of communication was unsuccessful even PM through the forum. Point not to be missed, please don't say you have things in stock when you don't.
Ps- they do have an account, last time I checked. It's Wheeldude.com I tagged them on the OP. |
I should be receiving my wheels today, hopefully everything's in order. No news on Wheel Dude, working hard i guess.

@WheelDude.com still has no answer to this thread? Really?
