Stuck between two forced induction kits...

Which one would be better on an all stock frs? An HKS Supercharger kit or a Greddy Turbo kit? Which one is better in terms of performance and reliablitly? Thanks

What is your goal?

Both are capable of 300whp with the proper supporting mods and a custom tune. The supercharger will always be more reliable than a turbo because less components to worry about leaking or failing. Although Turbo has more bottom end kick than a supercharger. Supercharger generates less heat than a turbo setup.

Street use? Track use?

When he turns 16 he'll have an FR-S?

I recommend driving school.

For thosewho arent as adiment as tinkering with their cars; supercharger setup. That being said i wouldnt buy the HKS one. Id get the Jackson Racing SC. Ive only seen good #'s on those and heard nothing but raving reviews. I do not own it either.

Other things to consider. Turbo + support mods to keep it cool on the track is gonna cost you. Think really hard if you want to run this car at the track with reliability and a turbo.

I don't think a 16 year old needs to go FI. You need to learn to drive first. Just my 2 cents.

Then when mommy and daddy can afford for you to wreck your car, get a Jackson or Kraftwerks SC. HKS is and always has been a giant waste of money compared to other offerings.

I use to kart race way before 16...
My first legal car was a Talon AWD full mods... Never crash "that car".
My son will get a 4 cyl 4x4 AT pickup if diesel better!

You are going to shoot your eye out, kid.

subaruindo 09-20-2014 11:56 PM

go with hks sc ver 2.

nataku 09-21-2014 03:31 AM

LOL.

Seriously get the car first. Drive it a bit and decide that you even need FI. I drove a fucking minivan before I got something cool to drive... You'll be ok.
