yes
living in shanghai at the moment, sorry i cant read chinese,

from the little info i can get in china, it looks like china will only have the subaru BRZ for sale, and very expensive (60,000usd aprox) i maybe wrong as i cant read chinese well,

i plan to buy my brz from america and send it over, that way i only pay import tax not new car tax,

That's not true.
I've called Toyota in China and they said the new GT86 will launch later this year. However Subaru said they don't know any information about BRZ yet.

The Chinese sentence is the same as the English one below, don't mind:thumbup:

I have inquired the local dealers of both subaru and toyota. both of them will income BRZ/GT86.

The questions are:
1. BRZ looks like more expensive about 3-5 thousands us dollars (20000-40000 RMBS)
2. Maybe the toyota has only AT version here.

3. Maybe in the future, toyota (china) will produce it locally!:w00t:

oh thats good they will bring both into china, better for parts when i crash lol,

still thinking of importing one,
i have a bad feeling they will change some things in the cars for the china market, even though it wont be made in china they can still opt for cheaper parts to cut cost because the rules on car safety are so low there,

they did this to the civic, lancer, mazda3's and i think also some low bmw's
there was a nice 350z forsale in shanghai i was wanting to buy but not sure how much was changed cos they wont let people test drive!!!

well, never mind if the engine and drivetrain keeping the same.

We have no choice. because they(the toyobaru company) can do everything here. what they care are only the cars like forest/rav4/lexus/outback which bring a lot of money.

For BRZ/GT86, i think they can sell only 1000 of a year. maybe less. They don't care. the JDM and America should be satisfied first...

i am actually happy toybaru wont sell a lot of BRZ/GT86 in china, it will keep the car rare and interesting for a long time,

not like the crappy chevy cruze and Hyundai coupe EVERYWHERE in china,

we just got our second shanghai car license plate confirmed today,
so now we have only 3 months to buy another car.
