Warranty about to expire

What have people experienced with warranty work relating to paint failures. I have a couple paint chips on wheel well border that is gonna require body shop sanding primer and paint repair etc.

Want to have the stealership do it before she hits 24K.

Ya you want them to cover chips but call THEM "stealership"?
Would talk to them really nice and see if they will throw you a touch up pen though.
Also check through the service bulletins and see if there is anything you missed before the warranty is up.

good luck!

Troll or just really naive?

I figured this might be a big ask of the dealer..... Besides trying to have any warranty with performed is a total b@tch which is the reason for stealership comment. I mean I had the chirping fuel pump replaced and at first go-around the tech actually stated that it sounded normal and couldn't hear abnormal noise. Shut the front door dealership. What a joke. This is not my first new car and being somewhat experienced with this kind of thing my warranty request was granted and fuel pump replaced.

Pretty much this. As soon as my warranty is up, the Sprintex is going on.

Have you read the warranty? If you have, did you miss the part about "normal wear"? Perhaps you should ask them to replace your tires, wipers, shocks, etc. under warranty as well. Seriously though, if you done more than 1 mile since you bought it, no dealer is going to give you warranty consideration for paint chips. Good Luck though.

I want to say that my dealership fixed a rock chip on my hood, free of charge.

However, I had only 3000 miles on it.

I'm just trolling.. Jk.

I work at a dealership. They won't warranty it. It has to rust before they do anything.

Time to break out the paint thinner water and salt. I'm gonna get my car repainted. ;)

I remember years ago reading my Sentra's warranty that rust/body work was covered ONLY if it rusted through from the inside out. Otherwise they it's your tough luck for not priming & touching it up when it was just a chip.

An example of dealer covered situation would be the surface rust (like some members here found) INSIDE the rockers rusting through to the other side.
