Hello.

Florida?
Don't let Toni from FA20Club/TR3 work on your car or buy parts from him.

Good to know... has anyone in the toyota community experienced any warranty issues after adding mods to the car? i wanna add cold air intake, catback exhaust, coilovers... but i'm just concerned that since this is such a new car that we may come along some recalls in the future. whachya think?

A cold air intake is a waste of money. The OEM intake is very well designed. A simple filter upgrade will do just fine. A lot of intakes will generate extra power by leaning out your air:fuel ratio, which is not necessarily a good thing and could give the dealer something to blame failures on.

A catback exhaust shouldn't cause any warranty problems. The dealer has to be able to identify the aftermarket part as the cause of the problem in order to deny the warranty, so unless your tips are melting the rear fascia, you should be good.

Coilovers may be a bit more argumentative. Say you have an engine problem that was due to a bolt vibrating out or something like that. The dealer could argue that the stiffer suspension played a key role in increasing vibrations and contributed to the failure. Then you'd have to get an attorney and fight them that way.

The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act is your friend in those situations.

Loads of threads on the subject here. The most definitive answer is "depends on your dealer and the mods you have done". Some have no issues some have nightmare stories.
Oh and... WELCOME

Also, there is a large group of people on here from south Florida. @Sportsguy83 can probably give you some pointers on which dealer is best, or meets, or things like that.

yeah the dealer is circumstantial too... the dealer i purchased my subaru from is a nightmare, they are in Pembroke Pines, FL - NO ONE GO THERE! but where I take my car for service which is closer to home, they are just so delightful.

Congratulations on the car, and welcome to the party!

Oh almost forgot my personal crusade!
Unless you are one of the rare few that enjoy the fake "race car" noise piped into the cabin be sure to delete or plug the sound tube from the intake.
You will find that you can hear what the car is really doing and your passengers won't get nearly as annoyed by the drone.
Cheapest and easiest mod you can do!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the car. I was recently vacationing at Del Rey Beach. Lovely place. Lots of exotic cars running around. Mostly lambos.
