Catless at customs?
Hey guys, I was hoping someone could shed some light on this question I have.
I've been looking into catless front pipes recently, and I have two options in mind: A) shipped at the border for pick up, or; B) shipped directly to my home (in BC, Canada) If I went with (A), I would obviously declare the item. Would it being catless be any reason to seize it at the border? Or I could go with (B), at which point I am also worried it may be seized at customs at some point. If anyone has personal experience with this, I would appreciate your insight and recommendations. Thanks! Cheers  |
A lot of the headers you see here were shipped to USA from China or some other country, so I would assume while there are laws about what cars the parts can be on, there are not laws about the parts merely existing.

Does not BC have a modified car law on the books?

I doubt CBSA cares if the parts fit within our emissions or noise regulations. If questioned you can say it is for off-road use only.
If you're in the Lower Mainland, AirCare is being phased out by the end of 2014 so you should only need to worry about getting a fix-it ticket for noise. |
