Everyone needs to help out with the FT-86! Toyota responds with 2011 target date.

(Ignore the poll^)

Hey guy, I figured someone needed to start a thread where we voice our opinions directly to Toyota instead of hoping they stumble across this site and read our comments.

So we all know the FT will be available in N/A trim, what we don't know is if it will be available in Turbo form. So lets email Toyota directly and tell them what we want!

Anyway, here is the link I used to contact Toyota. I couldn't find an email address from their other sites (I'll post links below):

http://toyota.custhelp.com/app/utils.../ask_intercept

I basically just expressed my interest in the FT-86 and commented about this site and also how they should produce a turbo version. Nothing to complicated.

If you do email Toyota (please do) and they respond, post what they say here. It'll be interesting to see what they say, or if they send out a general response (or if we bug them enough what they say lol).

So what do you say? Let everyone help out each other!

Here are the websites I visited:

Here's what Toyota replied back:

Thank you for contacting Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc.
We appreciate your interest in the FT-86!
Please note: Toyota and Fuji Heavy Industries, the parent company of Subaru, have jointly develop a compact rear-wheel-drive sports car that will utilize Subaru's "boxer" engine technologies and is targeted to be brought to market by the end of 2011.
Additional information regarding this development can be found by following this to the Toyota Motor Corporation website. http://www.toyota.co.jp/en/news/08/0410.html

Haha yeah thanks. I've had a engineering class where we had to design a plane wing and everyone was struggling. I emailed Bombardier and they sent me the whole repair manual for their LearJet (needless to say I got on A on the report lol). Sometimes its easier just to ask :happyanim:

I wonder how hard it would be to get a job writing for a magazine...j/k....

Dimman 09-08-2010 01:23 AM

3 cheers for Nate for doing the obvious thing. I can't believe it, he just asked them... :thanks::bow:

Never actually occurred to me or any of the writers.:bonk:

(And that's about my smilie quota for the month...)

blur 09-08-2010 03:43 PM

I sent one in, but it had nothing to do with the turbo lol. Honestly that's huge marketing decision that I feel we have no control over.

nate89 09-08-2010 06:41 PM

Yeah I should probably change the thread title to something more along the lines of everyone just emailing Toyota about our thought.

70NYD 09-08-2010 07:00 PM

i was asking wether or not the car will be realeased in OZ
this is what i got

Thank you for contacting Toyota Customer Experience Centre.

We advise that Toyota Motor Corporation Japan introduce various model vehicles to specific countries based upon market demand and individual country regulations and design specifications. Unfortunately we are unable to comment nor are we aware of an introduction of a FT-86 in Australia and suggest you regularly visit Toyota's website for further details on vehicle release information.

We apologise for not being able to provide you with a direct answer to your enquiry in this instance and thank you for contacting Toyota.

basically they are stupid fuckers who know sweet fuck all :)
u can see that toyota australia doesnt get as good customer service training as toyota USA
