Greetings all. My name is Alex and i have had my 2013 Ultramarine FR-S for a month now. I have to admit I am in love with my car. My previous chariots include a '90 miata, ' 94 camaro, an '02 Mustang,' 01 prelude, and an '04 Tiburon. This is by far the greatest handling of the lot. I am currently saving for a wedding and don't have a lot of money to splurge on extras. She came with an HID out already installed as well as window tint.

I have a couple questions. Does anyone know how I can adjust my headlamps to angle a little higher? They are a little low. Also, the one owner before me was an older guy who traveled interstate for his job, this pitting 40k miles on my baby already. I am on with this because this dropped my price tag by about 3500 bucks. My question is what sort of maintenance should I be considering at this mile mark and soon to come, as far as preventative stuff goes, fluid and systems stuff.

Another question, does anyone hear a sound when they turn the steering wheel hard over in a resting position like in a parking lot? I hear kind of like a whir and was wondering if this was normal. This is the newest car I've ever owned and I want to keep her like new as long as possible.

I've posted some pics. I think the ultramarine gets a little underrated. What do u guys think? Also any suggestions for 'budget mods'? I love to spend time working on my cars, just need to focus on a wedding as well. I look forward to hearing from you all and discussing our amazing vehicles!

The ultramarine is my second favorite colour and yes it seems to be underrated but that is personal preference.
The noise you hear is just the electric motor for the steering not an issue.
Doesn't LOOK like it was modded but that is hard to tell as they could have just put all the stock parts back on so just the regular maintenance schedule as per the manual should do you.
Also don't know if they plugged/removed the sound tube yet but if not you may want to do that. Makes a big difference in the sound of the car (I have made it a personal crusade to get rid of everyone of those tubes!!!) and you passengers will thank you!

Headlight adjustment

Little grey/silver adjuster at the center back of headlight. Counter clockwise raises the lights, clockwise lowers them.

You sir can now take the rest of the day off. I had to find out as my 6 k HID's were blinding everyone. lowered the driver side ones and kept the passenger side pretty much level. No more pissed off people.

I have the reverse issue where I can see about 10 feet in front of me. Wanted to figure out how to raise them a tad but was just to lazy to look it up. Now I don't have to!!!!

Sweet preciate it guys. Does the sound tube reduce sound or increase? I kinda like the cockpit noise. I had flowmaster 40 series with one resonator removed as well as a k&n Sr cai on my tib. Thing was loud and deep. Twin definitely not as loud, but I do enjoy her sounds

Sound tube increases noise in cabin but as it is resonating intake sound it makes the car sound crappy (MY opinion). It is sort of the mechanical equivalent of a kazoo. Without it you will get a much more accurate feel for what the engine is actually doing and a nicer exhaust tone.
Some guys do like it though as it does give a more "race car" impression in the cabin.

For budget mods if you're looking for power, The best thing in my opinion would be to get the Open Flash Tablet along with the Open Flash Header. You should look them up. It's about $1000 total and you can gain up to 30 hp. It really makes this car feel alive.

It's definitely the best bang for buck power mod out for this car as far as I know. And the best part is it's really good quality

Wow. That sounds nice. Unfortunately way out of my budget at the moment. I will keep in mind tho going down the road..

Little story about today, in the A/t, I was driving thru downtown omw to work, saw some people kind of look at the car. I had to make a sharp left on a one way street that is pretty wide. So I dropped it in second from third via the manual mode shift knob, hit the apex, and had the whole rear end slide out making a beautiful turn. I looked in my mirrors and saw the guys who were looking at my car reaching for their cell phone cameras. Beautiful commute to work

Get used to it! Unless you are in one of a few population centres where there are a bunch of them you will get a lot of people gawking. Just yesterday I watched a guy walking along staring so hard at my parked car he walked into a garbage can!
