Ishii Motor Industries Demo FR-S
Hello Everyone,
Just picked up our FR-S today. Thought I'd start a thread to get the documentation rolling. I unfortunately missed out on being one of the first 86, but I put a deposit down on this car in early January 2012 at Michael's Toyota here in Bellevue Washington which is the largest Toyota dealer in Washington I believe. This FR-S is Michaels's Toyota's first sale of the FR-S. I basically just had them do nothing but a basic PDI I didn't even allow them to give it the first bath as I wanted that pleasure. Not much to report right now, but do stay tuned as things will be happening with this car. For now, enjoy the pictures. Beautiful

Nice, detailed photos!
Feel like snapping a photo of the ecu, haha...;) |
Installed the KW Coilovers. My Scale was being funny but it appears the KW's weigh about 7 pounds lighter in total compared to the stock suspension.
We lowered it 1.25inch which really makes the car look better. It started to rain hard, so we were unable to evaluate the suspension. Ishii Top picture is stock. 2nd picture is lowered. http://www.141motors.com/fr-s/kw.jpg |
Lost 8 pounds by changing the battery to a Japanese sized battery.
I also deleted the DRL. I made a DIY thread here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7435 Ishii http://www.141motors.com/fr-s/batt.jpg Installed a K and N air filter just for the heck of it since we have them on the shelf. http://www.141motors.com/fr-s/kn.jpg And just because it was on the shelf, added a limited edition HKS oil filler cap... http://www.141motors.com/fr-s/oilcap.jpg |

For the past few days the car has been feeling stronger and stronger.
We've pretty much flogged the car for break in. It is now at 350miles. So, today we took it over to our good friends at Carbureter Connection to have it dynoed on their Dynojet. Best power made was 178.89hp and 144.68tq We also tested the top speed potential and found it to be at 162mph (169 indicated) Ishii http://www.141motors.com/fr-s/dyno.jpg http://www.141motors.com/fr-s/dynopic1.jpg http://www.141motors.com/fr-s/dynopic2.jpg |
Looks like best power made was 180 hp unless i am confused.

run file 003 was a 4th gear the others were 5th gear. The top speed sample was 5th and 6th gear. Ishii http://www.141motors.com/fr-s/dyno3.jpg http://www.141motors.com/fr-s/dynopic3.jpg |
That's awesome; nice results! looks like break-in & K&N filter are good for at least 10WHP; I feel like I made a good investment on the filter now; thanks for the dyno follow up!

Have you craked it yet?

@Ishii Motors, where did find the Panasonic CAOS batter?
|
Quote:
The solution to that is Cusco rear control arms which are around $500 but they're super solid and do not bend. Plus you can control camber with them. |

Everytime I import a car I have a new Caos battery installed in Japan. Unfortunately I don't import cars often enough to sell the batteries. I keep them all for personal use. Ishii |
Just get an Odyssey or Braille battery, they're excellent. They're dry cell and last much longer than regular batteries for not much more money.
That 178whp looks like a generous dyno reading, but I'll take it! |

But getting close, especially since we now have ECU Jumpers. Ishii http://www.141motors.com/fr-s/jumper1.jpg http://www.141motors.com/fr-s/jumper2.jpg http://www.141motors.com/fr-s/jumper3.jpg |
