Time Warner Cable Sucks
I am still on the phone, called about 40 minutes ago to cancel my cable. Lets see how deep this rabbit hole of shitty customer service and indiscernable Indian accents goes.
I have had nothing but CONSTANT issues with TWC. Double charges for extreme internet, random hikes in my bill, dropped calls to their customer service dept, and when I do talk to them, its a freaking mess of transfering me to different people and being placed on hold for 5-10 minutes at a time. Its a joke. They have a monopoly where I live, its ridiculous. I want to headbutt this lady in the face over and over. JUST CANCEL MY SERVICE. NO I DONT WANT A PROMOTION. NO I DONT WANT TO ADD A SPORTS PACKAGE TO MY SHIT. I AM BEING SHORT WITH YOU BECAUSE YOU FUCKING FRUSTRATE ME AND YOU HAVE A LISP AND I HATE YOUR FACE. Anyways, anyone else having or had a lovely time with TWC? They're the same company as Comcast, I think they known as that elsewhere. |

Question.
What speed are you retrieving on "Extreme Internet"? |

28-33 mbps The internet service itself is superb. Just the company sucks the big one |
Had them and dropped them the day a competitor added service to my area. Used them for work too and our compyany phone lines would be down for 1 day a week regularly. I switched to google fiber and have ZERO regrets.
I feel for your customer serivice that is hell with them. I've been asked, "Is your computer and router plugged in?" after being transfered to a specialist... I will fucking stab you! |

zero issues in my area. main reason is they have to compete with Verizon Fios. standard internet here is 50/5
|
I can't remember the last time my on demand with them worked but it's not worth calling about they're all idiots.

Big problems with TWC here too. They also have a monopoly, no other cable TV service available, and no other high-speed internet except cellular or satellite, and those are both problematic. They don't even offer HD broadcasting on their cable TV packages, even though they said they did and I bought a big-screen LCD TV a few years back because of it, then when the installer came out to hook up the DVR and "digital package", he said, sorry, you're SOL, no high def out in the boonies where you are. At least it is relatively inexpensive, but we'll eventually be switching to satellite for TV.

I have tried to cancel comcast 3 times in the last month, I just received another email bill today...

I hate TWC.
If you want to cancel, find a local branch near you. Bring your modem, power cord, cable box, power cord, remote, and just say you want to cancel. That is the easiest way. |
I hate TWC too. This is why I purchased my own DOCSIS3 modem retail rather than rent their POS refurbished modems, which not only makes my service more reliable but eliminates the monthly equipment rental fee. It's pretty much already paid for itself.
Even getting the service installed was troublesome. My rental agency gave me the number of a rep to call directly so I wouldn't have to go through their normal customer service. I asked for the 30/5 (Extreme) internet and the Standard TV package plus HBO, and the rep said there was a package deal for that. I only really watch two shows on live TV, Archer on FX and Game of Thrones on HBO. When the service was installed it was the Ultimate 50/5 internet and their Starter TV, which includes channels 1-19 only, plus the HBO package I asked for...in standard definition. When I called the rep back and left a message I got a call a few days later from a lady who said she took over the old guy's region after he left the company recently. She said they set me up with that package because it was the "closest" package to what I requested, and the package that I was told I would have over the phone didn't actually exist. Awesome. So we discussed options, and after several conversations over the next few days (during which time I had the 50/5 internet and didn't even use the TV) I decided that I use the internet FAR more than I would use the TV even if I had the channels I wanted, so I wanted to keep the 50/5 Ultimate. I did originally want to get the Standard TV but there was no package that with the Ultimate internet and Standard TV (or the Extreme internet and Standard either), and paying for the services a la carte was out of the question as it would have more than doubled the price. So I decided to just keep the 50/5 Internet and drop TV entirely. I was then told that because I'm currently in a package deal all I could do was move to another package. This was the point where I became furious. Effectively I was locked into a package deal that I didn't even want to begin with with no way to get out of it. My only course of action was to completely cancel service and sign up as a new customer, which would require a new installation. After some arguing the lady said she'd let her manager know about the situation and see if there was anything that could be done. A few days later I get a call back and they were going to let me out of the package and just keep the 50/5 internet, which is what I have now. Because I have my own equipment and don't pay the rental fees my 50/5 internet service is $64.99/mo, which isn't that bad. I do wish TWC's upload speeds were higher but most cable companies provision the upload speeds much lower than the download for some reason. Oh well. |
