Difference in overpipes/frontpipes
Guys, do different aftermarket frontpipes/overpipes change the tone/volume of your exhaust?
I'm thinking of changing to another make and would like to know if tone/volume/performance will be altered. |
Yes, especially when they are wider at 3 inches or go catless on the front pipe.
What if you're sticking to the same size (2.5")?
Still, there are differences between cat vs no cat, resonator or no resonator, plus the radius of the bends will play a slight role. Try looking for sound clips of the exhaust system similar to what you're after.
also the pitch/tone could change if a different material/ metal thickness is used
Most front pipes give relatively the same sound if they have the same components. Catless vs catless will sound identical if the same size piping is used. Same for catted, resonated, etc. If they use the same style of cats and resonators in the same places on the pipe, sounds will be similar
