Apple iPhone 6
I'm pretty curious and excited to see what they are announcing today...hopefully the iwatch. Lots of leaks and rumors the last couple of months...hopefully some of those are true!
Anyone planning to get one of the new iPhones? I've been using the Nexus 5 and getting tired of androids...looking forward to see how the apple feels like. No need to comment with 'Apple Fanboy, or Apple lover, etc'...i just noticed that our FR-S's BeSpoke system works much better with iPhones than androids when streaming music via Pandora and Slacker. |
i'm getting it cause my iphone 4 is fucked.
cracked screen stuck buttons can't make calls sometimes speaker phone doesn't work http://www.apple.com/live/2014-sept-event/ |
If they decide to compete with the Google Glass, will it be known as iGlasses?
|
I'm looking forward to this because my iphone5 is pretty tired. New is always good.
I'll be grabbing the 4.7inch version, probably 32 gigs. |
Want dat iPhone 6 Plus.
and whatever stupid watch they choose to market to me. Dammit. |
Doesn't look like a bad offering, but I'll probably stick to Android.
|
I'm not really an Apple fan in general, but the mobile devices- iPhones/iPods/iPads are solid. Had a 3G, 4s, and 5s. I'll probably wait for a 6s, but I'm curious to see how the 6 turns out. I like how they're offering two screen sizes, a normal screen size for those that use the phone with one hand, and a gigantic screen to compete with the HTC's and Samsungs and LGs that are way too big for a phone IMHO.

it's 16, 64, 128 |
Hate apple but all my other tech works with it. Fuck
For 64gb 5.5" hopefully....funds permitting |
I will also be purchasing one. Gonna wait until they are out to see if I really need the 5.5 inch screen, but either one will be a 64 GB. I'm just not sure I need the extra 0.8 inches hogging all the d1ck room in my pants.

these tech watches will look dated quickly.
classic looking watches will always look timeless (not sure if pun was intended) |

Don't make the perfect 32gb size. Make the 64gb so that anyone who can't use a 16gb has to buy twice the memory they really need. More money in Apples pocket, and people will pay it. So I guess it's a good business decision. |

they sure are going to take my money lol |

That's how you become a multi-billion dollar company Nick C. |
i'm glad the prices for the sim-free hasn't changed. $649 for 16gig and $749 for 64..so in actuality, i believe the 64 gig is same price as the old 32 gig

There's an app for that. Store excess d1ck in the cloud. I'll be getting a 64GB 6. The battery in my 5 has gone to shit and the phone has had a good 2 year run. With how much I'm on my phone, I have to fully charge twice a day. Not a fan of phablets. |
I think I'm gonna go with a 128 gb Plus. I'm always having to delete pics/videos and that should be plenty for music as well.

I never owned the iPhone because of their small size, but I am definitely interested in the new bigger ones. Maybe will have to sell my note 3...maybe.

What's other merchants' adoption rates of those technologies? That's the only leverage that Apple has over Android. Otherwise, you're right, Nexus often has the features first. But for the most part, a lot of things are gimmicks unless other companies are on board (e.g. smart watch integration, wallet apps). |
I wouldn't use Android even if I was getting the device and the service for free. I've had to use Android devices occasionally for work, and nearly every time it is a complete headache.
|
I just ordered my OnePlus One an hour ago! Waited for the iPhone 6 announcement, wasn't impressed in the slightest bit, moved on. 64gb iPhone 6+ is 2.5 times the cost of the OnePlus One. Not hating on Apple, as I currently have a 5S but it's time to move on. I will miss the fingerprint scanner though.

I love the fact that you can mount any android device as a drive and copy and paste items like any normal OS rather than dealing with Itunes etc which is :suicide: To each their own, I think if you are using a phone for what its purpose is for than apple is just fine. I think if you want more control and want to do things that a normal user would not want (tether, change OS look, feel, overclock and more) android is a nice choice. Even stock you can do a lot more with the latest version of Kit Kat. Granted the older versions of android were not stable so definitely give them another shot. Me I will be waiting for my Note 4 |

I'm overseas for work. I just got a company Android phone I've got to use to demo some software on for when I get dragged into pre-sales meetings. I try to sync the Google account set up on it which fails with some kind of useless error message like "Sync will be back soon." No real information on what actually went wrong or any options for fixing it. After trying unsuccessfully for a while to figure out how to fix this, I decide to leave it for the time being and set up some other apps which I need to do anyway. Once I open Play Store, I log in but then get an error screen, in the local language only (and no way to copy or change to English), telling me that because my current usage of my account is "suspicious" I need to supply a local number to get a text message to get a code to enter before I can use Play Store. Fortunately, I could read this and actually had a local phone I could use, otherwise I would have simply been SOL. Once the "suspicious" account was fixed, voila, email could sync again. Seriously, how the fuck was I supposed to know I had to go to the Play Store to get email to work? Also, this means for the typical user just travelling overseas, they won't be able to use their phone even for basic things like email. Never had problems like this with iOS. Next, I noticed the TTS voice was extremely quiet. I check the volume and made sure it was turned up all the way. No effect, still very quiet. Later, randomly I was on a different screen and found the volume adjustment actually did make the TTS louder this time. WTF. Again, another bizarre, annoying problem I've only ever seen on Android. And these are far from the only problems. I could honestly go on for hours about the stupid shit I have had to deal with nearly every time I'm forced to use Android that I've never experienced on iOS. |

Probably might get the S5 if the iPhone 6 doesn't live up to its hype

Petition to start a kick starter for the phone that makes fried bacon! Joking aside, you're right. The average user won't even be aware of half of the new features, much less how to use them. There is an argument there though with the younger generations and the soccer moms being tech savvy enough to make the most use of the phone. |
