Perrin exhaust, burning up sound deadening?
Anyone else finding their Perrin exhaust is getting louder over time? I have about a half a dozen track days on mine and it seems to get louder after every track day. It could be all in my head, and I have no db readings to back it up though.
Anyone know what the sound deadening material in the muffler actually is? I don't think there's any solid baffles, just some packing with perforated piping? |
I had the same thought yesterday after another track weekend. Seems to be getting louder. Like you though, just a hunch, no evidence. I've done about 10 track days now with the Perrin.
Perrin shows this cross-section of the muffler on their website: http://perrinperformance.com/files/p...ufflerx600.jpg There's technically a lifetime warranty on the exhaust, so I wonder if they'd do something if it got excessively loud. |
I've noticed mine getting louder. No track/racing, just average daily driver. I have about 10k on the cat back since its been installed.

Mine has been on for a bit over a year (so about 35k km's) plus the track and autox use.
I should find someone else local with the same setup to see if it's in my head or not, and if I'm not making it up I'll contact Perrin. |
