dent in front lip!
Hey fellas.
I was running some mountain passes yesterday. Upon exiting a turn, i saw this huge rock in the middle of the road which i couldn't avoid..so the rock hit the front bumper and made a little dent...it's not really visible from the front, but it's still annoying...how should i repair it? Just conceal it with spray paint with the same color code? https://scontent-a-vie.xx.fbcdn.net/...7a&oe=5489A576 https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.n...8bff0af628766f |
If you really want to repair it, you'll need to sand and respray that area, then blend it. Chances are that it'll still be quite visible as a repaired patch though.

Get solid strips of clear protector for parts of the car most likely to get hit by incoming debris. It may not have helped with the dent, but the scratches created would probably be considerably less.
Example: I once scraped my bumper along the curb for a good 2 seconds. I took a look to find any markings and only found the protector mostly rubbed off. |
Repaint or lip it.

Put a lip on

i'm afraid that the damage will still be visible even with a lip on...
maybe i'll just leave it as a battle scar :D |
I'd probably get a touch up paint and that'd be it. Can't really see it unless you bend over anyway.

I just repaired a nasty stone chip on mine.
First clean it up with isopropyl alcohol. Then prime it with primer paint. Then it will need several coats of matched touch up paint to fill the scratch above the existing paint level. Then carefully polish it back to the paint level. Leave a few days drying time between coats and polishing. |
