This thread is ridiculous.

Go buy an automatic corolla or something.

Oh fuck I rev match all the time I bet I totaled her.

It's not official until you ask on the Facebook group though.

Rev matching, heel toe, basically any driving technique other than the basics to operate a vehicle are bad m'kay?

It's more about pointing out that all the advanced sports driving techniques have little or no place on the public road, they are superfluous to requirements. They distract from the real issues of driving on the public road.

Most importantly it is definitely NOT what you should be teaching newbies just learning to drive stick.

It is not "me" who is right, all the advanced driving schools that deal with public road driving use the same or similar systematic approaches. It is used by ambulance drivers and police pursuit drivers. They don't heel and toe or rev match either as there is no need and it just adds workload. For that you'll need to go to track school or rally school.

It's also not "slow" in traffic if done correctly it is much faster by being smooth, progressive and flowing rather than aggressive and punchy.

If you actually go and take some advanced lessons it will surprise you just how much progress you can make without all the fuss of playing around with the gearbox.

Cliffs, You shouldn't rev match, heel toe, or double clutch ever on the streets because it uses more brain cells and distracts you from looking at the road.

In other words, OP is saying dragging out the clutch is better since it uses less brain cells (this is true, cause only an idiot with no brain cells does this) which makes slowing down much slower or jerky... but it's safer

If you are shifting correctly there won't be a lurch or a long drag of the clutch, maybe it is you who needs more brain cells or maybe you need to learn to drive a manual properly?

Clearly you suck at driving.

Could have just braked and stopped in 6th. If he wasn't stopping outright he could have simply braked down to the speed for the junction, then selected the correct gear and been away without all that fannying around.

Jesus F-ing Christ this is so absurd

You mean me, and I don't know what work load you're talking about, since I don't think about when and how I have to shift... if you have to think how to shift or when to shift, go drive an auto, cause you clearly don't have any abilities to drive a manual car.
