Hey guys

I purchased a vehicle Monday. After all of the pondering I decided to purchase a black 2014 Honda Accord V6 Coupe. I was weighing all of the pros and cons and came to this decision. It's a daily driver and we're getting into the winter season... Here in Virginia we get snow pretty hard. It was between the FR-S, 2015 Mustang, 2014 Camaro and my Accord. The FWD and power was a breaker... I love the FR-S and still would like to get one for cheap in the future used... I still plan to periodically be here in these forums, I love it here.

Did you join an Accord forum?

Dude i live in canada and have ONLY driven RWD cars (mustang, MR2, FRS) and with some blizzaks you would be perfectly ok, I can guarentee i've experienced snowfalls worse than anything you've been through in the states and not once has my car failed me :) But enjoy your new ride buddy!

V6 Accord is appealing as a daily. No consideration for the Focus ST or MK7 GTI?

As much as I hate to admit it the Focus ST was on my short list while looking!

It's a good car, along with the Fiesta ST. One of my buddies got a FoST and seems to love it.

You have NO IDEA how glad I am to hear you say that!!!!!!
My wife FREAKED when somebody told her these cars were "death traps" in the snow.
Told her if I could drive my 70 Coronet R/T, 440mag, six pack with massive rear racing tires for 4 winters (a LOOOOONG time ago) I could manage the FRS.

Just couldn't get over the horrible torque steer it had (and the fact it is a Ford).

These were the only other two cars I was considering when looking at the FR-S. Then I test drove the FR-S. Never got a chance to test drive the others. lol

Ford has gotten a LOT better in recent years. Definitely my favorite domestic manufacturer, and I used to be a Ford hater.

I always hear people complain about how horrible RWD is in the snow and I'm just like.... Buy decent snow tires and you will be just fine. No one seems to believe me though. They think you're automatically going to go flying off the road or something just because the car is RWD :bonk:.

BTW I got caught in two different snow storms last winter in my FRS and managed to get home from work just fine on the shitty stock tires. There was about 3" of snow on the ground both times and my commute is around 10 miles.

Guess some people just don't know how to drive in the snow :iono:

I live in London but work at two plants (same company) with one in Windsor and one in Woodstock. At least Windsor is pretty much the green belt. Drove RWD for decades before FWD and never put one in a ditch before. Going to get some nice deep snows on 16 inch rims, throw the stock springs back on (or 3 inches of snow may be too much) and get myself a nice shovel traction pad set and just have fun all winter.
