That's about when chemically created colorants were available commercially. They went wild.
This one doesn't have enough gingerbread fretwork to pull it off though and looks like an abortion.
They only did the front and left the sides ( and probably back ) beige plastic siding.

I am running a bi-xenon projector retrofit setup so I have no need for the high beam bulbs at all

I've seen these projectors in person as far as cutoff, but I'd like to hear your opinion on how they compare to the FR-S lowbeams especially where pattern and intensity balance are concerned. They stock lights are pretty nice as they have good coverage but usable intensity. My old quad was often so damn bright you couldn't see anything that wasn't already illuminated. With a single set setup thought that shouldn't be an issue.

The first time I saw a picture of that TRS kit running 5k bulbs on Whiteout I nearly had to change my pants. Looked super clean.
