Whoever did those did a very good job. I would like mine done but they would not turn out so well if I paint them lol.

The grazio ones in the second pic are my favorite but that's crazy money for tail lights.

those are my tail lights. it's really easy to do. i guided another member on here with his and he had awesome results. all you need is a can of metalcast red paint and a can of urethane clear from www.automotivetouchup.com

the tails will look flawless and real. no need to spend all the money on aftermarket ones.

there is NO sanding involved in my process. you only have to wet sand if you get debris in the paint. mask, spray, dry, spry, dry, clear coat.

kask2_6.0 01-02-2013 05:18 PM

Awesome! Maybe I'll have to buy or trade someone for another set of lights and give it a try (mine are opti-coated).

What brand is the Metalcast red? Where can I get it?

VSGTS14 01-02-2013 05:46 PM

duplicolor, sorry!
it's made for metal/chrome to give it an anondized look aka it's transparent. this is why it works so well.

the vht is a very blurry paint.

Whiteoutjames 01-04-2013 11:31 AM

I'm halfway through and unfortunately I've encountered dirt getting embedded in the paint, you peeled the masking tape before you clear coat, right?

lazyluka 01-04-2013 04:09 PM

Owned the car for 1 month now, put on 3500km.

200m from home, bus flicks up a stone and bam. It's still good by the time I reach my house, but then I park inside the garage, come back after talking to the glass repair company and then I see the massive crack.

Windshield was opticoated just like the rest of the car.

I will be needing a new windshield, but there in is the biggest problem. There is none in stock so I could be waiting a few days or even weeks. :(

Part of me have always wanted her in red instead of in white, but that thought quickly vanishes, at least for a while, whenever she takes a bath in the sun:

I'm having the same issue. There are 2 firestorms and 2 whiteouts at my dealership. Can't decide. :iono:

Well, if it helps your decision, the Whiteout has an extra cost of $250 (approx.) because the paint costs more. It was totally worth it for me, but Firestorm was definitely my second choice.

Yeah, I knew about the price. Every time I look at whiteout, I think I want it. Then firestorm comes along and changes my mind. Happens over and over.

It will come down to how much attention you want...Red is going to get extra looks from the police, girls, random people, etc. (this can be a good thing or bad thing). Plus, very few red cars that I've seen in my life age well over time (the color always seems to fade noticeably).

Will a wider tire fit without rubbing? I noticed you have 225s on them, so may be a 235 or 245.

Hanakuso 01-10-2013 05:09 PM

depends on the ride height, but should be fine

I'd say a 235/40/18 if it isn't too low

New Whiteout FRS in Utah.

Hi everyone. I just purchased my new Whiteout FRS. I love this car although I have not been able to drive it for the last 2 days because we have had about a foot and a half of snow in Bountiful, Utah. (10 min. north of Salt Lake City.)

If there are any other Utah FRS owners that want to get together, hit me up. I have 2 other FRS owner friends that would love to go on a cruise up Emigration Canyon or some other fun drive.
