Just read that Mazda is going start producing OEM parts for the NA.. Seems to be a trend amongst the manufacturers, JLR restoring old Land Rovers, Peugeot restoring 205 GTi, BMW producing stuff for their old E30 M3, FCA building parts for the Lancia Delta.. Porsche doing the same thing.. interesting to see where it goes...
Sorry for resurrecting this thread, too lazy to start a new one.... |
Mazda Revenue 2019 $31,471
Toyota Revenue 2019 $275,356 Love most mazdas..my fam had a mazda mpv growing up lol but the unfortunate truth is toyota knows how to make money off cars and mazda struggles..heck, they just started using toyota's own financing! |

Being smaller, yet profitable, still means you know your business enough to make money. There is no relationship there as many other things go into ultimate revenue. |

Show us the profit margin per vehicle sold for each and there may be a basis for comparison. Oh and you can't just take the number sold and their annual profit since it involves way way more factors then that. |

ok net income of $22 bill from toyota vs $111 mill from mazda for last FY..pretty sure that is a much bigger percentage for toyota. yes, grats on mazda for being able to hold out all these years unlike say suzuki and still turn a profit but relatively no growth and miniscule market share for a mass market brand isn't great. either way, just a very silly thing to say about Toyota, they are the epitome of making money off cars and they still manage to give us 2 RWD coupes.

It's impressive that Mazda is still profitable but there are so many variables in calculating profit that it would take some digging and comparing Mazda vs. Toyota financials but I'm too lazy to do that. That's Mazda's biggest problem. They're bleeding market share. That will change in 2021 when they start producing a new crossover at the Toyota JV Alabama plant that if they sell to plan will increase sales volume by 150,000 units annually initially, +50%, a big deal for reversing their declining share and future prospects. https://carsalesbase.com/us-car-sale...s-2019-brands/ |
