What a horrible way to conduct an introduction. I love how the car looks though... now where's the specs!?

AVodka14 09-03-2014 10:41 PM

Ehhh. No thanks. Lame. But I have never been a Miata fan. So they will never make one I will like. Come on already, remake a turbo RX series. I always liked the last gen RX-7. That's pure beauty.

Great lines until you get to the headlights makes the front end look a little off.

Would be better received if they had just called it what it was: a styling unveiling, removed any pretense of giving us hard information.

I'll believe a sub 2,300 lb curb weight when I see it on an official Mazda release.

25 years and counting, maybe next year!

ok

It is the most compact of any generation MX-5 so far and is more than 100 kilograms lighter than the model it replaces, promising a dramatic leap in Jinba-ittai driving fun.

I think it's cute

a little roadster, with some get-up and go.

true miata formula

Almost has a lotus style to the back

Mazda did it again!

Wow! Just saw the announcement by Mazda and I REALLY hope my wife trades in her 2011 MX5 for the 2016 model. I was hoping that at some point the FT86 would replace the MX5 iconic position but it looks like the MX5 will rightfully continue to be road and track icon it has been.

Although not as drastic as Toyota and Subaru, Mazda collaborated with Alfa Romeo on this design.

P.S. I am NOT trading my FR-S for an MX5 next year.

A little bit Sky and a little bit Z4. Pretty nice IMO.

Looking forward to seeing these on the road. I say the more competition the merrier, keep em coming.

sklimo 09-03-2014 11:06 PM

This belongs in off topic

And I hope they fixed the fact that if taller than 5'5" you look like McDonald's toy driving it

Bristecom 09-03-2014 11:09 PM

Hmmm... the headlamps look too small. Looks like it's about to fall asleep. And it still has that silly smiley face. Otherwise, not bad.

funwheeldrive 09-03-2014 11:10 PM

I like it a lot, but Miata isn't the first thing that comes to mind when I see the car. I wish it was more kawaii.
