Installed the Mtec stainless steel brake lines with red rubber protective wrap. Install was straightforward thanks to this DIY from a fellow member. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20311
The brake pedal feels a little less squishy now and more direct. Gives a little more confidence when braking. I'm on the OEM pads (I have separate track pads). The brake lines look cool as well. :) Picture below is of the rear brake line I installed.

Finish that off with a Perrin or Grimmspeed master cylinder brace and enjoy!

So the thin red rubber coating is supposed to somehow protect the stainless steel?!? LOL like hiring midget body guards to protect a pro boxer.

anyways...just saying...I'm sure they are as good as any other stainless line.

And all other stainless lines are covered in a clear coating. Because it's a braided line, dirt can work into the braid and wear away the actual inner hose.

I'd assume so given the ends and covering.

I couldn't find much. I started to question it when the first thing that popped up was eBay...

Interesting... Looked on Mtec's site and they don't offer brake lines, but the ebay store has their name and logo...

All the stainless lines have a coating, most are just clear.

Does the OEM brake line retainer work on the Mtec SS line?

Lol this made my day.
I'm always amazed why people buy ss brake lines. It's just a fancy and useless cover over a standard hose. You can get the same effect buy getting a slightly bigger hose.

Unless your doing some serious off roading a s.s brake line is pointless in a car. It just looks cool.
