Any idea to mount tablet on seat rail??
1 Attachment(s)
Hello, I have this tablet seat mount that gets hooked with the bolt on the seat rail.... If that made sense..
Anyways, how do I loosen the bolt on the seat rail? I know I need a LONG torque wrench and a special E-Torx wrench or something (E-10?)? How tight is it lol? Or do you have any idea for this??? Check pic attached |
It's pretty tight. Make sure you have the right fit socket for it and be careful.
Once removed you can replace with a "normal" head bolt to make it easier in the future. That's what I have done for my fire extinguisher mount using those bolts. |
just drive the car, don't worry about Fn tablets

Thank you for the help, but what kind of wrench you used?
For the second person, I want to mount the tablet. |
Nearly missed this question @Mikeez - remember to tag as there's so many posts on this forum.
I used my large torque wrench with an adapter to fit the small socket. |
mine loosen up and i use TIG welding with other nut to remove it .

Yo - just out of curiosity - do you have a link to a pic of how this thing will be positioned after you get it done? I have a cafi android unit mounted in my dash but I am curious how this will look.
Thanks and gl! |

I've been there with this mount. The pesky security bit came out (carefully) with a standard hex. Then I realized the forked tongue is too fat to fit in the dimple of the seat rail.
I didn't feel like adding washer spacers to get up out of the hole, along with a longer bolt to compensate for the lost threads so... Second choice: Passenger footwell side of the front center console. Pop off the plastic trim piece to reveal a few eligible bolts. I think they were all standard hex. Be careful bending the pipe of the mounting arm. It's strong but can fatigue and break if you abuse it. GL! |
Subbing because I want to do the exact same
Is it bad that I don't have the car, yet am planning out the thousands in mods that I want? Nahhhh |
