Torque App - 100% Accurate Fuel Remaining
After a week or two of trial and error I came up with an accurate fuel remaining equation in Torque. This is a modification of the one posted in this thread. This is useful when your fuel light is on and needle is below empty and you have no clue how much further you can go.
The original equation is correct except it uses a factor of 100 and this is slightly too high. It should be 95 (see Fuel Percent 1 value below), which is the output of the ECU/sensor when the tank is full. PID Settings: Quote:
Fuel Level 1/Fuel Percent 1 = Calculations from thread linked above. Fuel Level 2/Fuel Percent 2 = My revised calculations. Immediately prior to my fill-up: Fuel Level 2 = 1.4 gallons, 10.5% full https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...9-14-35-32.png Receipt from fill-up: 11.839 gallons added to tank https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...829_154239.jpg Fuel remaining + Fuel added = Tank capacity 1.4 + 11.8 = 13.2 Immediately after my fill-up: Fuel Level 2 = 13.2 gallons, 100% full https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...9-14-38-26.png |
