Borla Cat Delete

I looked for the past few days for a review of this product and couldn't find one. Is anyone here running this OP/FP combo? And if so do you like it? Thanks in advance!

I have it, fitment is good, the only downside is it's 2.25in. But it's still bigger than stock, catless, and about 240$ for both op/fp which is a great deal. Nice option for using with quieter 2.35in catbacks (like Invidia Q300 or Tanabe). Build quality and flow is of course not as good as 2.5in Perrin, Motiv or Nameless. But those will cost you twice more and require 2.5+ catback for performance benefit.

Finally some information on this, I have already ordered the Borla UEL header and have a N1 already installed so everything sounds like it will marry up pretty well. I saw this video and fell in love with the sound:

Thanks for the information!

I just received the Borla OP/FP and plan to install over the weekend. It will be using the stock headers and mating up to the Borla catback. I will let you know how it goes and how it sounds. If anything like the catback install it should be easy.

Just remember to undo the engine mounts an lift the engine to get the stock op out and to put in new op will make your life alot easier

Sorry I've never lifted an engine before, do you mean undo the engine mounts raise the car up and put a jack underneath the engine and then lower the car? If so where would a good jack point be?

Yes undo the two engine mounts. Then use a block of wood on the jack..2x4 usually works best..then raise the engine from the oil pan you don't need to raise it much.. i did this while my car was on jackstands.. and up to you if you want to remove the heat shield but u should be able to do it with it on I took mine off cause I was trying to do it without lifting the engine

as a previous owner of this setup with borla headers... IMO it is garbage compared to other options out there...

Really? What's your setup now? And did you have the the new flex pipes or the old ones?

Edit: I read your signature, the 3" piping isn't too loud? and is it catted or catless?

I'm interested in how that'll sound. I've got the Borla catback and was looking at fp/op but I wanted to know if it would sound raspy.

The header is just fine, but that thin walled metal that the OP/FP is made of that reminds me of stuff I would buy at say Home Depot and use a pipe bender to make it. This setup was significantly louder than my entire 3" resonated setup that i currently have. I actually got pulled over by a state trooper because it was so loud. My wife hated it, but bit her tongue until i changed it out to the current setup. I would wake up people in my house and probably other people driving the old setup around.
Now, it sounds so much better(as in much quieter, yet with a beautiful growl when on the gas) and and a sound clip of my exact setup is somewhere on these forums and YouTube from another member. My buddy at work complimented me on how much better the car sounded. I have yet to have a Police officer look at me for being loud too.

Compared to Nameless and Perrin, Borla's construction does not compare and reminds me of a cheap chinese factory knockoff. This is my honest opinion and experience after making the mistake of purchasing this and then moving onto a better product. I moved on in part because cop said it was too loud and in part because this part overall was terrible and at first, I did not admit it to myself that i wasted the money on this.

Keep in mind that the last thing i did was change out the FP/OP to my current one. The Perrin 3" catback and Borla header stayed the same.

Well first off, thank you for the well thought out response. I'll look for that sound clip you mentioned of your set up. Interestingly enough I received my Borla OP/FP combo today, and I see what you're talking about with the quality. It does seem a little thin walled.

I'll be installing it this weekend as long as my gaskets get here on time. I'll make a sound clip of it (hopefully no cops pull me over!). But if I don't like it I'll definitely start doing some research on the nameless line, I'll have no problems admitting if I've wasted money haha!

Are you sure you didn't have an exhaust leak ? I'm asking because on my car it is as quiet as stock. I didn't notice ANY change in sound after OP/FP install. Will do a video tomorrow.
