Just ordered a new 2015 BRZ Aozora

Not going to be receiving it for awhile but excited none the less, I had a few questions regarding it (ordered in white btw).

What exactly is the additional underbody cover ? Dealer didn't really know either and neither does any online sources. I've inquired to subaru but may take awhile to get a response.

Also anything else I should know. Will be receiving in Canada in December so.. Those summer tires will need to go xD

Congrats and welcome to the forum!

There's a DIY install thread is here that might provide some insight:

They are basically aero panels...

Not available in North America via dealer, hence the lack of reply from them.

Not available in US? That is. And thanks Green monster

Neokolzia 08-27-2014 03:26 PM

And wow yes I see the Aozora isn't available in the Us thats surprising

Aozora.BRZ 08-27-2014 04:39 PM

Isn't the Aozora the same as the US S.Blue? I have only read of the floor mats being different.

I picked up a series blue about a month back in Atlanta.

Go to subaru's website and you can see the visual differences (except for underbody).

1. knee pads on center console/doors
2. start/stop STI button
3. STI body panels (front, sides, rear 1/4)
4. under body trays (takes the CD down to .26 from .28 i believe)
5. blue stitching instead of red inside
6. nice stiched floormats with BRZ
7. nicer seats
8. painted calipers
9. STI wheels

its the "fully loaded" model as well (nav, fogs, etc)

Thanks but I was actually asking if there were any differences between the US Series Blue and the Canadian Aozora special editions.

I understand that it is the same car with different name and the only difference I have seen is that the Canadian version does not come with the blue lined floor mats.

Neokolzia 08-27-2014 05:36 PM

Ok I didn't know about the series blue, seems to be almost the same shame about not getting the blue mats but not a big deal. Only other difference its a smaller production run at only 200 total that I see.

The underbody aero panels will help stable the car during cross winds on the hwy when driving at high speeds. I installed them and now my car is just as stable as the German stuff. Aozora also gets the STI full body kit which I would imagine even more stable at cutting across the wind and on hwy ramps.

I also find it interesting that you can still order them in CA. Down here it sounded like all the existing Series Blue ones had been allocated as a dealer I stopped by ran out and told me there was no option to order them.

Still that is kind of a long wait, so hang on there!

Hm...? why is yours taking so long to arrive?
There's Aozora's sitting on the lots here in Ontario. Lots of dealers have multiples..

GreenMonster 08-27-2014 07:16 PM

Oh, and the under panels ARE available in the US from the dealer now for people that don't have a series.blue:
