Deepest Non-raspy turbo exhaust?

Hey guys, Im planning on going with a turbo setup and was watching the videos, but its kind of hard to tell just how much rasp there is…

I was looking at the Invidia N1 but it sounds like it may not be big enough for a turbo setup?

Can anyone recommend the deepest NON-RASPY exhaust setup for a turbo?

Here's our headerback 3" modular dual exhaust system. It can be converted to a driver's side exit single exhaust system for those who prefer single mufflers:

Yes Teacher:bonk:
But in all seriousness, thats the point of the thread, theres usually a general consensus in addition to individual info, hence the thread.

Tomei Type 80 but only if you like the single exit design.

Nah looking for double

Turbo is going to kill pretty much any raspy you might have gotten.

The N1 is 60mm IIRC, so it's a bit small for a turbo setup IMHO. 3" isn't required for a turbo setup, but it helps a lot.

I've heard good things about Perrin 3" Resonated.

Dipstik-sportech 08-24-2014 01:56 AM

FBM dual exit

There's your ticket. I love mine and get rave reviews from everyone who hears it.

Videos aren't going to cut it because sound quality sux and well as different outcomes with different mods.
Ex: my catless N1 was hella loud when I was UEL. Same exhaust with turbo manifold = way more quiet and no drone. Still throaty and deep but basically the sexiest damn sound I've heard.

Now I know someone supercharged with n1 and 1 cat but has different header and car is loud as balls. @sklimo

Best bet is to go to meets and hear others in person to find what you want.

Of corse I'm partial to mine but it changed between mod changes. N1 no cats and stock manifold sounded great too and I met up with others that eventually went with same set up. Some of us are nice like that and will try to not have people waste money.

Loudest to quietest I've heard in person: axel back
Agency power
Gready
Invidia n1
Perrin
Borla
Invidia q300
Stock (meh)

It all depends on the tones and notes you want and everyone's hearing pallet is different GL

Think the JDL UEL turbo mani would be too loud with a JDL 3" down to Greddy Evo 3?

FR-S Matt 08-26-2014 09:05 AM

The N1 is plenty big enough for a turbo setup. It all depends on your horsepower goals. Fighting rasp on a 3" exhaust requires resonators and a decent muffler. Rasp is much easier to control on 2.5".
