Are these paint swirls.. or dents? Dealer damage.
Hey guys!
I recently brought my BRZ in for a free oil change.. and I'm 90% sure someone must've rested something on the top of my car. After I got home, I realized there's these 3 (tripod form like) paint swirls (they don't FEEL like dents, but look like them). It appears to be only on the clear coat. Can I buff this out, or should I complain to my dealer? I'd hate to start trouble if it's not a big deal. However - I want them gone! In the photo it's hard to tell, look for the distorted reflections. http://i.imgur.com/ydUOPk3.jpg |
any pics from other angles?
swirls are tiny scratches in the paint that do not look like dents so that's probably not the case. |
I wish I had another photo - I'm on the clock until 7, I'll get one later. They really don't feel like dents. I think I'm gonna go back to the dealership and just see what they can do.

If the reflections are warped, it's obviously a dent.

Guess so :/

Did they just do an oil change, or any other maintenance? |
On a similar note, I think one of the dealership mechanics put a slight dent during my oil change while leaning on the fender. It also could've been while installing my clear bra, either way I will get it PDR'd out.

What PDR shop or specialist do you use? I heard a few people recommend Jason from Northwest PDR, but he never responded to the email I sent awhiel back when I first got the dent. |
Hey guys, I had some PDR repair done on some VERY VERY minor dents and they got them out without any problems. What's minor? Lets just say the light had to hit the right to see the dent; however, you could not feel it! ANYWAY, they got them out no issues so totally recommend taking it in and seeing what they can do. I was very surprised and pleased with the results!

i would NOT take it back to the dealer. take it to a PDR specialist. Dealers don't give a shit about your car and just want it in and out.

I already have a PDR appointment so I'll stack these on ;) haha.
