clicky/loose brake pedal?

Don't know how to describe this, i recently discover that my brake pedal has a bit of up and down play to it.

feel like that there is 1-2mm of play on the brake when i depress the pedal till it actually engages. its really hard to explain, i could make tap dancing sound on the brake pedal but not have it depress the brakes.

It doesn't affect the functionality and i don't feel like its a safety issue but it is a little annoying. I notice it after a autox the car a few time + put on a master cylinder brace.

I'm not sure if i just began to notice this after driving it hard with mods or it was there the whole time but my mind had blocked it out during the honey moon period.

Does anybody else have this problem too?

You may be feeling the travel where the brake light switch is activated. It's on unless it's depressed, but the switch contact can be felt through the pedal.

If you're certain that it's travelling too far before engaging the master cylinder, I believe you can adjust the pushrod on the back of the pedal arm. I've done this on previous Subarus to take out the play like you're describing, but haven't looked into it on this car yet so I'm not 100% on that... Don't adjust it too far, it will prevent the master cylinder from fully opening to access the reservoir. Just enough to take out the free play.

Brake pedal is supposed to have freeplay, same with the clutch pedal.
