Nice! I want to know what they did to the engine to get to 250 HP and if they will sell the parts like Ford has done with the R2 Fiesta.

"Changes to the software and hardware are part of an extensive development programme and the final car is targeted to deliver 240-250hp."

I would guess high octane and cat deletes at the minimum :p

it would be interested to see the fulls pacification of these cars to see where the modifications happen.

Rally cars are required to run a cat as they are road legal cars...
Race gas is a yes tho...

Also 79000+ vat is 95000ish eur in most countries which is ~130.000usd.......

ZionsWrath 08-22-2014 07:47 PM

What are those fluid reservoirs under the hood?

Goes for europe 100%. Not sure about usa but anything FIA sanctioned that at any point includes a public road requires a cat!

Two are front and rear brake fluid resevoirs and the third is the clutch fluid resevoir.

I 'll admit it - I've fantasized about jacking my car up and heading out to find some gravel roads so I'm really interested to know what suspension mods they've done on this thing.

That Nameless Rally America car has some insane custom sub frames on it - too hard core for me.

The cat isn't deleted completely. I think they still need to run them to meet FIA specs:

Toyota Motorsport GmbH: It's not used as a muffler, we just moved the position for better performance.

I've always wondered how that improved performance. I've heard it's just easier to change because they get so hot with boosted exhaust temps on the WRC cars. But this is an NA 250hp car, what performance gains can be had, and why don't any aftermarket exhausts take advantage of this?
