My room mate @juliog has the Ptuning EL catless header, tomei OP, and tomei catless FP with the stock catback... On cold start... It sounds absolutely terrible. Like I cringe when I get in the care to drive it. Once it idles for a few and warms up though it's very quiet.

The crappy sound comes from the titanium OP+FP and the fact there are no cats.

I had to edit my tune to reduce the cold start obnoxiousness even with the FP cat and stock muffler. I can only imagine with no cats.

Similar to what i had initial and yeah the rasp killed me in my case. Had ptuning EL with tomei over and motiv catted FP and still had rasp and obnoxious cold start.

Yeah I don't get it. I had a built L28 motor in a 280Z, and sometimes running open headers (to test things) it was quieter than the BRZ with catless everything and a resonated perrin catback. Finally ditched the motiv test pipe for a dual resonated HKS front pipe, now it sounds sick as hell. Still loud on startup, but my tune is edited to limit cold start high rev time.

That's what I've heard seems like a nice dual resonated front pipe is its kryptonyte as far as unwanted noise or rasp go.

Here's my setup for Tomei UEL header w/ Tomei FP. Too raspy for my liking, have taken it off since. Would leave this setup for the track.

Check it out, I love the sound. I think the Stock catback is just fine paired with Berk OP/FP and UEL Header
