How would you repair this?

It was raining heavily and I took a corner and moderate speed and the car slid right into the curb. Luckily it only damaged the front passenger rim and the very edge of the front bumper. I've already got a replacement rim to put on but I'm not sure what to do about this part. I ordered touch up paint and clear coat, but I am not really any good at these types of things. Any ideas?

Just use rubbing compound and live with the remaining scratches?

That would require bodywork and/or replacing the bumper. Sorry for your loss but happy your still here with us!

It's so small I was just hoping it could be successfully touched up. I thought about getting a black polyurethane lip cover that would cover that little bit.

Did it bend the bumper? Most of that can be buffed out. If there is any remaining damaged it can be touched up. How good it ends up looking depends on how delicate you want to get.

Sand it down and try to buff it out. You can still hide some of its scratches.

It didn't bend it at all. I was hoping buffing might do some good.

Use a mildy rough compound. If it gets all or most of the damage out that you are comfortable with it, use a finishing polish. If the scratches are beyond the paint you'll have to sand and touch up paint it. If you've never sanded I recommend letting someone with experience do it as the bumper paint is really thin, even more so that ut is right on the edge where car paint is usually the thinnest.

Make use of the least abrasive method with sand paper and polish just to be safe.

I had a minor scratch caused by a 2x4 on the freeway. I was able to repair the damage with some rubbing compound and some touch up paint that the dealership carried. good luck!

Touch up paint can also be any easy remedy. I use Langka touch up paint system. Its easier and matches the color very well.
