How much on average does a wedding cost?

Depends on where you are, but I read that the average cost of a wedding in the bay area is north of $15K. I know people that have spent waaaay more than that and I know people that have spent significantly less than that.

my wedding was barebones. No church, no crazy limos.


3k for venue rental downtown Toronto (one of those historic buildings)
7-9k on food for 60-70 people (plus alcohol? maybe another 800-1200)
2.5-3k for wedding dress
2k for my suit


I also called in favours..
photography friend doing photography for free... saved myself 2-3k
dj friend doing djing for free... saved myself 1-2k
saved on wedding planner by having parents taking time off to help plan and decorate shit
