Please elaborate for a noob?

There was a TSB a while back that had replacement brackets that should have fixed this problem.

Also check this thread:

Also you are in the wrong sub-forum

Don't know about you guys, but my bumper fits fine. I had the gap you're talking about but I just had to exercise a little patience and it installed just fine.

nyfries 08-18-2014 08:04 AM

This is worrisome. I really want to do up my headlight and install a oil cooler but I also like to not have gaps on my bumper :( is this problem so prevalent that I should probably not diy bumper removal?

BadBRZ 08-18-2014 10:58 AM

Any bumper removal diy or not will cause this...

No matter how you install it? How come I see some ppl that have taken off their bumper and they have no issue? Or does it still pop out sometimes and have the gap?

BirdTRD 08-18-2014 02:20 PM

take a look at this.

post #138 looks promising. I've used the speaker wire trick in the past with good results. (piece of wire jammed in the gap to hold the tab and hook together) My bumper has been off since then, just too lazy to fix it again!
