VIS AMS CF hood review

Ordered from Bodykitdepot.com, packaged very very well and delivered at a reasonable time (out of stock at the time of order).

Fit like a glove on the first try of install:

Nice finish, the hood clamps down good when you close it and very large vents for the FI guys:

As for the heat issue, I can see heat waves coming out of the vents when the car is stopped. I have not seen dramatic heat reduction while driving hard or stop and go traffic. However, the recovery time to cool the temp has improved.

I probably need more air coming in now, and plan on drilling the front bumper with small circular holes to see if more air flow will help with the coolant temp issues.

I am planning on paint matching the hood, but do you guys have any recommendations to keep some CF parts visible? Or keep it all CF as is? Or some funky designs? any suggestions would help!

I had asked about painting a CF hood a while back and was told to ghost paint it

Paint the hood, then ghost fade the vents to match the ghost on your wing.

Maybe you can add a bumper vent like Gushi.

I want that vent on each side, 2 vents like the srt4

All white or white with the parts after the vent that are tilted paint black. Carbon fiber doesn't last forever in the sun so I'd paint it.

I'd guess a car with a hood like that must have at least 700BHP. Am I close? I'd guess a car with a hood like that must have at least 700BHP. Am I close?

How hot is that running that you feel the need to do that? That will sure be, ahh, a "unique" look. Drill the hood too! ETA: If temps were a concern, why would you drop that much money on a hood that probably does very little as far as actual useful airflow and not on a racing/upgraded radiator?

How are holes going to improve airflow through this?

No shit. I just don't want another FR-S/BRZ to laugh at.

@Tromatic Have you seen Kohei's car in person? Do you know that he is turbo? Do you know that more cold air makes more HP? @Tromatic should change his name to Trollomatic!

Not sure if your passive aggressiveness comes from PTSD or getting sexually molested by your uncle Bob playing Doctor when you were young, but keep your idiotic posts to your self dude. I have a feeling you don't have many friends in real life, but be sure to call the help line if you think your gonna pull a Robin William on us.

well, that's probably gonna close the thread.

The guy is just a neglected troll who needs attention. Pretty sure he secretly wishes he could modify his car too but is too self conscious to do so; so he resorts to "laughing at" other cars that are modified. If he was such a purist, he probably wouldn't frequent this forum so much on his high horse. lol. Pretty sure one major aspect of this platform was to be modified by the end user as mentioned by Tetsuya Tada.
