Can you provide another angle of your engine bay.. I want to see if there is anything I can suggest...

I had to modify my bracket to work with my Beatrush tower bars.

Maybe something like my setup will work for you...

If you can't make it work like I did then another option is create a whole new bracket or cut the existing one and rivet it or weld it back together shorter.... perhaps changing the angle a bit might help as well.

Hi guys, can anyone tell me what's the bolt hole spacing on this bracket?

@Mishimoto

Hi!

The bolts are M4 and are spaced 10mm apart measured from the center of each hole.

Thanks,

I have a Mishimoto MMBCC-MSTWO-BK Black Compact Baffled 2-Port Oil Catch Can from my old GenCoupe (RIP) that I salvaged and adapted for use in my FRS. It's hooked up to the cowl at the rear of the engine. I removed the bottom bung and replaced it with a brass drain valve. I installed it with only 300 miles on the odo and when I checked it at 1000 miles I got my first oil out of the cc.

I'm conflicted because I'm happy the cc is doing its job, but I'd be just as happy to never have blow by lol.

Thanks Mishimoto for the excellent cc!

Our pleasure, and thanks for the nice words! It really is shocking how much blow-by ends up condensed in these cans - it's unsettling to look at, knowing that so many engines see this stuff cycled through regularly, but as they say - much better out than in!

I've just received my CC only to read through the thread and found that the bracket is also unable to fit underneath the multiple brakelines that we have on RHD 86.

The sticker on the bracket package was dated 3th May 2016. Please advise @Mishimoto.
@Mundy , did you ever received a solution to your issue?

Top part of the bracket rubbing against brakelines. Unable to level the bracket.

Bracket and plastic cover in contact. Cannot force into place. Removed bolt will not fit.

I should also add that the bottom half of the catch can is near impossible to unscrew. Am I suppose to find a table clamp to remove it?

Mishimoto 08-09-2016 01:43 PM

Thanks to Pineapple for reaching out and giving us some feedback!

Just so all of you are aware, we have not had any fitment problems with left-hand drive cars, and have only recently become aware of the potential RHD issue. We are working to gather more information about this issue from the affected parties, and I will keep you up to date as we confirm any potential fitment problems as well as any solutions.

Thanks!
Gardiner

Maybe don't advertise it as suitable for RHD?

At over $300 from your official Australian retailer, we expect it to just work.

Is January of 2015 still considered *recent*?

Not happy. Not happy at all...

zeal86 08-10-2016 01:29 AM

@Pineapple I know you expected it to just work out of the box as do I when installing my new mods. I ran into a fitment issue once I installed my Beatrush tower bars... Since I was no longer able to install as directed, I came up with this work around... perhaps it could work for you as well...

Thanks @zeal86.

In your case, your own mods prevented the bracket from being installed as intended, otherwise it installs just fine.

My point still stands though as I have no mods that would hinder the installation, yet it still didn't fit. With words like "No cutting / modifications needed"in their advertisement and I mean what reasons would I have suspected that it didn't fit RHD when it clearly states "Fits LHD & RHD"? It's just plain misleading.

I chose their kit because it looked straightforward and that the shaped tubes keeps the engine bay tidy and more importantly, it's suitable.

I have some, albeit dwindling, confidence that Mishimoto will come up with a official solution. Show me that my confidence in you is not misplaced, Mishimoto.

Pineapple,

I assure you that we are working on a solution as we speak. I will post in this thread with updates as I have them.

Thanks for your patience!
