Help me decide on another car.

Been looking at getting a GTI, Gen Coupe 2.0t(Don't plan to ever turbo the v6), Mustang GT, or WRX.

I love my FR-S but I really am looking for something with turbo or more power. I don't ever plan to turbo my FR-S unless some company came to me and asked me to use my car as a prototype for their turbo kit(never gonna happen), so thinking of getting into a car with turbo or more power.

Any suggestions, trying to spend under 21k

Manual as well.

Thanks guys!

Hmm. Bunch of different tools there.

I'd get a gen coupe 2.0t if I wanted to mod a car.

Mustang GT is a great car, BUT don't want to be associated with the "typical" mustang drivers.

WRX is a solid choice. 2009+

I do not like the interior on the GTI though.

So the WRX as is (if i didn't want to mod) or the Gen coupe 2.0t (if i wanted to mod.)

I am with you @tahdizzle Gen Coupe was what I was looking into most because I do plan to mod.

If you're looking for power, I'd go with the Mustang GT, if you can fit inside comfortably. Incredible engine. Just mod the suspension and call it a day.

+1 for the Mustang

Focus or Fiesta ST would be worth looking into if you're not set on AWD, or RWD. I'm by no means a Ford fan, but drove an Focus ST recently just to see what my own thoughts were. It was a very practical daily driver and fun to boot.

My next car will probably be a mustang. Best muscle car out there.

Drive them all and pick the one you enjoy the most?

That's usually how I pick my cars.

Yea its hard to get away from turbo cars, I mean I can turbo my frs but idk if its even worth it. Ive owned a 92 talon tsi awd, 2005 gti, and a 2005 evo. So turbos are my thing lol.

$21k is more than sufficient for a clean Honda S2000 or FD Mazda RX-7.

Not as pretty in my opinion, but still within budget are the MKIII Supra and 3000GT.

$21k also gets you a pretty quick Merc or Bimmer if you're willing to roll the dice on secondhand German car ownership and maintenance.

So what made you buy an FRS if you don't mind me asking?

DrawingBrad 08-08-2014 05:56 PM

@STV3 What made me buy an FR-S, well I got mine a year ago now and I think the thing that drew me to it the most was at first the looks of the car. I really liked how low the car sat stock. I then went for my first test drive in the car and it was really fun to drive, different than what I am used to driving my talon and evo were both over 400 hp cars. So it def. felt much slower but the control of the car was amazing. The power on the other hand is a big let down, and which is why I am at the dilemma I am in. I really want to get back into a turbo car, love working on them and love just making them faster. I may end up turboing my FR-S if I can get a semi sponsorship somehow or sell it for a GEN Coupe 2.0t or a WRX as of now my two favs. However an RX7 wouldn't be bad except they get like 9mpg lol.

Boost the FRS and call it a day. Save yourself from having to spend the extra 16k. There are many proven kits that bolt on directly such as AVO.

My wife has the 2013 Gen Coupe 2.0t. Even if you mod it, it just doesn't drive anywhere near as fun as the BRZ/FRS. Feels really really big and awkward. The turbo was nice though, so that led me to supercharge the BRZ.

Just boost the FRS. Are you considering trading it in for one of these other cars, otherwise? Don't do something you might regret!
