I hate to be that guy, but what happened? I met Buzz at one of our meets a couple months back-he's a very intelligent and humorous gentleman.

I know it's natural and human nature to be morbidly curious and ask these things, but let's please respect Buzz's wife, his friends, and his family's privacy in this difficult time. Some of us are hurting right now and what's important is that we try to celebrate all the great things in Buzz's life and remember him as we knew him. A warm kind-hearted guy who accomplished so much and earned so much respect that his departure has left a painful void in the lives of those he left behind. Thanks everyone for understanding, and your ongoing support.

I believe Sandy will be at the South Bay meet tomorrow and can accept any donations you would like to make to the family, with the goals she set out in a previous post. Regardless of whether you can make a donation, she will also have a notebook in which we would love to have friends of Buzz write a few notes about your memories of Buzz, or any condolences or other wishes you would like to pass along to Buzz's wife and family. Basically the same kind of wonderful things some of you have shared here on this forum, but we'd like to put them down on paper so that his family has a more permanent collection of these memories and messages.

:thanks:

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family (and definitely friends). Met him earlier this year, great guy.

I was just clicking through my FT86club friends' lists and happened upon @BRZkitty's page and noticed her Custom User Title, "RIP Buzz 8/5/14", and wondered if Buzz was someone on FT86club. Was sad to discover that Buzz was indeed a fellow enthusiast.

Condolences to his friends and family who surely are still missing him, and probably especially so during the holiday season. It's wonderful that they can come online to see all the heartfelt messages and relieve happy memories via all the pictures and stories here in the forum, though.

In reading all the wonderful things folks wrote about Buzz here on the forum and looking at the wonderful memorial drive his friends and loved ones put together for him, I was able to feel just how much he was loved even I never had he opportunity to meet him myself--he sounds like he was a real stand up guy.
