Problem with Rocket Bunny GT Wing?
 

I bought a used Rocket Bunny wing from a user on these forums and took my BRZ to the body shop over the weekend to have it mounted. After we took off the Limited lip spoiler, we tried to test fit the mounting brackets on the trunk but it wouldn't sit flush. They were saying there's probably a difference between the FR-S and BRZ trunks, or between the Limited and Premium trunks (which I doubt)...or could there maybe be something wrong with the mounting brackets the guy sent me?

Both cars in all models have the same exact rear end. If it fit the previous owners trunk, then it should fit yours. Did you happen to get any installed pictures before you bought it?

Three possibilities:
- the mounts weren't made properly
- the shop warped the trunk when they removed the spoiler - doubt it
- incompetent shop???

This is what I'm assuming also...I don't believe it's an incompetent shop since they have a very good reputation and have worked GT-Rs, Supras, etc. I may have to try to contact Greddy/Trust and see if they can send me just the mounts...

Not making any accusations, just hypothesizing. Was the wing authentic or a replica? I can see how a rep could have issues with fitting properly.

Not sure, don't want to call out the user in case it is, but he did have a full RB'd FRS without the wing, so I'm assuming it's authentic? Not sure why it doesn't fit though.

Not even the authentic RB pieces were made to perfectly fit lol..

I say grind down the brackets a bit to get it to sit as flush as possible and then as soon as the bolt is tightened you'll forget all about it because all that shows is the huge wing and not the brackets, I haven't EVEN checked if mine are sitting flush with the trunk or not lol.

Any luck on getting just the trunk mounts at greddy? i need one too. lol

Unfortunately, no. I had to get a custom one made by the shop (luckily friends with the owner so wasn't too expensive...) that they welded right into the trunk:

I see. yeah no luck for me either on greddy. I called them and they said send an email. I sent an email and no reply. and sent another email still no reply. lol


looks nice on what they did on yours. I have custom made as well but still not look the same as the original one.
