Loud tick (not crickets)
 

I understand boxers are "noisy" motors, however today I took a short drive (15 mins or so) to bring my wife some dinner at work. When I pulled in I noticed the engine was ticking, much louder than normal. I decided to make this video and while recording it about 17 seconds in you hear a tick thats suddenly faster and much louder

Bit worried by this, I'll be going to the dealer for an unrelated issue come tomorrow and will bring it up, but want to know if anyone else has experienced this.

Take it in and have it checked out.

Are you talking about the noise that sounds like the belt and pulley running? I don't notice any "ticking" noise. My car makes that noise too and I never worried about it.

mine does that too, including the faster ticking sound near the end of the video. I always figured it was the DI turning on.

Normal. Just enjoy the car.

Just seems SUPER loud out of no where.. I hadent even heard that louder faster tick till i took the video. Need to get to the dealer just to be safe.
