Quick video: M26 in Michigan's UP
I took this video (along with quite a few others) today while out exploring Michigan's Upper Peninsula. This video is from the stretch of M-26 between Eagle Harbor and Copper Harbor in the Keweenaw Peninsula. This is one of my top 5 favorite driving roads in the state...full of twists, cambered corners, hills, and great scenery. The official posted speed limit is 55mph, too, so you can actually go pretty quick on this road legally. If you want to push it more, there are rarely any cops in the area; you only have to really deal with other drivers (as you can see at the end of the video). Anyway, this is mostly unedited as I'm still on vacation and have limited access to video editing software, music files, time, etc. Hope you enjoy it anyway...if not, give this road a shot if you're in the area because the video really doesn't do it justice.

Very beautiful area. I love the sections. With lots of dips and curves, like a mini roller coaster for your car. :-)

Yeah it was a LOT of fun...video quality sucks, so it's hard to tell...hopefully the new upload will finish soon and I can replace this potato video with something you can actually watch
EDIT: New upload is up and the quality looks a lot better (although still pretty compressed for some reason) |
The approximate area of the video is marked by the two arrows (left arrow is start, right arrow is finish)

I went to school at MTU, so I've spent plenty of time up there. This was always one of the best drives, although I prefer the sections closer to Eagle Harbor, along the lake. 41 back from Copper Harbor is also a nice drive.
Did you head up to Brockway? |

I tried while coming back from copper harbor but the road is in terrible shape now. I remember back a few years it was a great road to drive on...now I couldn't go more than 20mph without feeling like something in the suspension was going to break
