Normal amount of corrosion on brake calipers?
2 Attachment(s)
I noticed today that my brake calipers seem to be developing a decent amount of corrosion, more on one side than the other. Is this normal? I bought the car in March. Thanks!

You should see mine! They're covered in rusty brake dust.

First new car? They'll be covered in rust after a winter.

No, I've just never noticed it on the calipers before. Rotors rust all the time. Might see if I can get them sealed/painted. Thanks!

That's rust? Looks like caked on brake dust to me.
I painted them silver anyways, looks great! |
It doesn't look like rust--almost like corrosion on a battery? I thought it was weird because one side has tons of those black spots but the other has almost none.

its prolly from salt. scrub with a hard brush and spray a rag with wd40 and dress the "outside only!!!) like you would a tire. use a lint free towell. or it would be a great idea to spend 40$ and get a caliper paint get from and auto store (any color but yellow) lol |
