Does OFT raise rev limiter?
 
I'd like to be able to hit 60 instead of 58 in 2nd gear. Does OFT make this possible? Anyone run a good 0-60 in just 1st and 2nd gears with with a rev limiter raised due to a tune?

Definitely possible, I know a few autocross guys who are running 7800 or 7900 for just that reason. Not sure if OFT has rev limit per gear though.

We do raise the rev limit to 7600rpm in all our OTS maps (for 6MT cars). To be honest, I'm not sure what MPH it translates to in 2nd gear but I'm pretty sure it's over 60.

That's awesome. So I'm assuming that allows for around a 6 second time? Getting closer to buying this thing...

The OFT is WELL 'worth it's weight in gold'. Best purchase I have ever made for a vehicle as far as power/cost goes. Not only does it unleash quite a bit of hidden power, it immensely smooths out the overall feel of the engine, not to mention being able to run e85. Also, you have full data monitoring/logging capabilities, and being able to input that info into VirtualDyno in kinda kool. I was on the fence for a while, but I am so glad I sprung for it.

Another question that I've asked elsewhere and not had answered, on the subject of rev limits, is: why did the automatics not get the new soft rev limit setup? We can and frequently do drive in full manual mode.

With 6AT, max rev limit is effectively controlled by the TCU (transmission control unit) not ECU (which is what we flash). So even if we raised the max rev limit values in the ECU flash, the TCU would still shift at the same RPM. It may be possible, in the future, to flash the TCU but that is a big IF. Nothing we have looked into yet. I don't think that has even been done before outside of Toyota.

Nice! Do you know what a stock FRS puts down on that Dyno Dynamics dyno?

I was hoping Id have time to uninstall and run again but it didnt happen, so unfortunately I do not...

Sweet! This way I only need 3rd gear to activate the flux capacitor and go back in time!

Full manual? It doesn't shift at all. It bounces off the rev limiter and drops down to about 7000 rpm. At that rpm I would hope the torque converter is in full lockup, so there shouldn't be any slippage. I see no reason the rev limit can't be higher for 6AT.
And this still doesn't explain why the 6AT didn't get the soft rev limiter like the 6MT did.

It can certainly be implemented just by copying the ignition A and ignition B tables (and rev limit values) over from the 6MT map. But to be honest, I don't usually do things like that on Auto cars. Sometimes applying soft rev limits can have an impact on shifting performance when in automatic mode.
