Atropine's AW-11 Build

As many of you know...I was recently given the green light by the wife to buy another Sports Car.

I struggled with my choice...at first it was a Cayman S, then a Lotus Exige S.

After both of those deals fell through, I started to look for a Supercharged MR2 on a whim.

You see, I have owned 2 AW-11 MR2s in the past and I lament ever getting rid of them.

Well, I found what I think to be a pretty good platform MR2 to build off of.

It is a Supercharged 1989 AW-11.

2 Owner car...first owner owned it for about 6 months...the second owner has owned it the last 25 years.

I plan on doing a mild "build" on it.

The start of this will be me getting it into good/better working order.

I will try to include PICS and stuff like that.

I know a lot of people don't like seeing "Car Washes" in build threads...but this car really needed some TLC.

If you like what was done and want to know how I did it, just reply in this thread and I will reply.

I will first get it clean and more mechanically sound. Hoping to learn how to do more stuff to the car myself.

I will do upgrades once the weather changes to cold and rainy...

These are some pictures of the dirty Engine Bay and Frunk and that gross stuff on the ground in my driveway...that all came out of the door jams and from the frunk...

EDIT: Just noticed I lack pictures of Frunk...will get those today

Plans for this weekend and next week...

*The power windows on both sides...are sketchy...going to get them fixed

*Oil Change and Transmission Flush etc etc...unsure when they were last done

*Have my Mechanic look over the car...look for obvious, "must fix now" stuff.

Future plans...as in I WILL get done this winter

*Swap out old shocks...

*Potentially swap out the bushings

*Upgrade brakes

*Probably get some different wheels/tires onto car

Nice little project you got your self!. Just with the cleaning the value doubles!!!

Nice AW11. Always have loved those. Can't wait to see more from this build.
